Same here, love my radio. Right now it is playing ocean waves to help my
new baby stay asleep. I have had no issues with it.

Yes there should be more compliments about the SBR. If it were reliable
I would be the first to say it was the best $150.00 I have ever spent.
The screen occasionally freezes up when changing stations, using the
presets, requiring a reboot. So I tried leaving it on just one station

Yet another glorious summer day here in Toronto yet still no SB Radio
outdoor listening pleasure due to no batteries being sold in Canada.
Pretty pathetic that I have to ask this question here but would anyone
be willing to buy me one and ship it up here? Obviously I'd prepay you

I'm seeing the same on both Radio and Touch I believe it's an issue with
the current firmware of the SB players.
I also have all kind of problems with updating the firmware and
connecting to servers on the device itself (work fine if connected
through iPeng/controller)

see iPeng,
I have a 7.5.1 network of 4 Radios and 1 Touch. I also use iPeng (iPad)
and various Android apps for(Droid) remote control. My problem is
sometimes when I press play, not all radios emit sound---I can see the
"playing" icon so it is streaming (I guess). There's just no sound. I

I agree with you...the Squeezes are all awesome. I like your positive
statement. There should be more like it.

For all the griping about the Radio--I want to say that I just finished
putting up four cords of wood for winter and my Squeezebox was with me
every moment of the way. I was outside about 200 feet from the router
and using the battery pack. Never a drop-out or cut-off. From Pandora
to Radio Ranch
Are we talking about an older nightly build within same SBS release ?
If you install an older official SBS release the Radio should prompt
you to downgrade the firmware automatically. For nightly builds I think
it always uses the latest firmware version compatible with that SBS

When I reinstall an older version of squeezeboxserver, I can revert the
Squeezebox 3's firmware to the older version. However, the Squeezebox
Radio does not provide such option to update to the older version
firmware. Is there a way to downgrade back to the older firmware?
Thanks.

Boom:
+ sounds better
+ stable firmware
- Will probably get less new features than Radio
Radio
+ smaller size
+ support for optional battery pack
+ color screen
- more firmware bugs at the moment = more problems
I would personally not change back my Radio to a Boom, I love the size
of the Radio

that works here too, but you need to set up the options to do that
under USER CP.

Based on my experience, do NOT buy the radio. I may have bought a lemon,
but this thing is driving my wife up the wall.
* The radio is extremely unstable.
* It will stop playing for unknown reasons-to restore playing press
another stations button then back.
* Display will go black-previously
I've had both for about six months and love them both equally.
Radio:
* Nice screen for album artwork, picture screen saver, clock, menu
navigation etc.
* One speaker (but sound quality still surprisingly good).
* Apparently dodgy alarm clock (though no problems for me with local
SBS).
* Battery
