SO... I turn on my SB Radio this morning and get a notice about a
software update! My Radio is using MySqueezebox (it's at work, and I'm
not installing SBS on my computer)...
Anyone know what bugs this software update fixes before I go applying
it? :)

OK... I read through some of the postings here and it seems that *by
design* the alarm will use the internal speaker for output, I guess
people using headphones at night want to make sure they wake up in the
morning.
But I don't use headphones, I use powered speakers, and I really like
my music
Never mind... just missed the announcement at the top of the forum. It's
too bad that Rhapsody is the only thing changed in the new version...
unless there are other changes that just haven't been detailed.

Another solution would be to buy a Boom (it has stereo) or use an SB3,
Receiver, or Touch with the powered speakers.
Also I am not saying it can't be done using SSH, somebody on the Forum
can probably make that happen if its possible.
PS Most of us on the Forum have two ears also.

I don't want to buy yet another device, I love the format of the radio
to have at my bedside, I like the snooze button, the well thought out
interface, etc. It really is close to the perfect device I want, except
for the speaker, which I really don't like how it sounds (I hope I've
made that

Thanks Triode. I've just installed your applet after downloading and
installing the latest firmware today. Previously I had the same BBC
problems mentioned by others, but your applet is great. I didn't see
any mention of recommended applets as queried by Noghar earlier in this
thread, though
Hi all...thought I would write about each day's alarm performance as I
continually tinker to get the thing to work. It may be of use or not
but will be therapeutic for me!
SBR is running 7.5.1. r9009 firmware, is wifi and is part of a stable
and reliable xp system serving 2 booms and 1 sb3.
Thank you BLatSD for the reply. I tried the propsed remedy, but it
didn't work. I hope Logitech is doing a fix for this problem!
Best regards,
Lennart

See the announcement at the top of the forum list... apparently it only
fixes issues with Rhapsody and nothing else.

Lance Reddick, the extraordinary actor has something new for all music
lovers. He newest work is a great jazz album that all will love. The
title Contemplations 7 Remembrances already puts the listener into a
state of ease.
Smooth jazz lovers are sure to love this and listen to it everyday.
Thought I would share my little adventure with this update...
1. Downloaded/Installed update, which restarted the radio.
2. Home menu loaded with only 3 items Now Playing, My Music, and
Settings. Waited 2-3 minutes, the other options slowly appeared.
3. Pressed play button, began playing
My radio got the update last night when I powered it on (I power off my
radio every morning, not to save power but give me much less headache).
Everything went OK. The alarm went off this morning with default sound.
Hit snooze and saw the Unable to connect to network message. The

I updated my Radio this morning. Upon rebooting it reconnected to my
network and server right away, all of my applets and patches on the
Radio remained installed, presets were what they were supposed to be,
etc. Basically no hassles here. Upgrade to the Touch was similarly
smooth.

I got a prompt for an update, said yes and the update ran. Then I
thought I'd test one of the new BBC HD programs and the box froze and
ended up going into a reboot, freeze, reboot cycle. I ended up taking
the battery out and then plugging it back into the mains at which point
it settled down.
I do have a question about this that maybe the old-timers or learned
ones can answer...
The radio station logo artwork, is that sent by the streaming station
or by RadioTime?
Since I'm not familiar with the streaming media protocol, it got me
wondering whether the artwork is received in a
I just checked for Radio stations from Berlin and the logos are all

URLs look like the following:

so they are served from Amazon S3.

Thanks!
Since you were able to retreive the url to the artwork file, can you
offer any insight into how this happens? For example:
1. RadioTime station is selected on radio.
2. Radio contacts RadioTime which does a lookup for the station.
3. It then sends the user's radio two bits of

Hi:
Is there a way to lock down the presets and settings (e.g. wifi,

password or lock setting within the radio menu last time I check.
This can be done using the shortcuts feature. Key operations such
after doing the update my SBradio is a mess, the alarm is about the only
