Yes, I have exactly the same problem. I appeared to solve it by
reinstalling the last software update but now today shoutcast gives the
same 'unaabale to parse date' error message. The squeezebox server web
interface gives the same result.

The funky music is the fallback alarm. It will play when for some reason
the Radio does not receive the stream you asked it to play.
You may want to check the threads dealing with the BBC and alarms.
Evidently there is some problem there. Try
Further to the shoutcast problem, I have a squeezebox touch and
everything else is working perfectly.

My shoutcast is evidently on the blink as well. Even a shoutcast
favorite I have is not working, although its an old favorite so perhaps
its URL has changed

I'm considering getting a Squeezebox Radio to use as both an alarm and

Just to confirm this so you hear it from more than one person.
If the alarm is important, I would choose some other solution
From your initial post, it seems to indicate that you would be using
SBS. If you have SBS running 24/7, then (at least in my case), the
alarm functionality for the Radio is quite reliable. My use case is
that my server is always running, and my alarm sound is a sound file on
my server. My
I echo 0xdeadbeef: You don't want this as an alarm clock. I use SbS 24/7
and have alarms set to playlists and they often work. But for an alarm
clock, often isn't sufficient. I've found that any hiccup, glitch,
momentary loss of network availability can either reset the alarm so
that it doesn't
I checked this evening and Shoutcast is now working now. Let's see how
long it lasts though.
