I've had the same problem with the alarm as described in this thread.
I.e. in the morning my Squeezebox Radio very often uses the Fallback
alarm tone instead of playing my selected internet radio stream.
Only now I noticed this thread - and I have made the proposed change to
the timer.
To clarify, this can be done on squeezebox server using the iPlayer
plugin.

Hello,
I have some trouble with my squeeebox radio.
My squeebox fails after some time(often the morning). I can listen some
radios but for most of the radios the message is connection reset by
remote server.
When I did a diagnostic, all parameters seems good except tcp 3483 and
9000
I'd be very interested in your result!
(Your are using BBCiPlayer streams as well ?)
If it doesn't work, don't forget to share your log-files as well.

is considerably lower in magnitude than the internal speaker. I find
