After buying a "kill-a-watt" meter I was amazed at the vampire draw in my house when I added it all up (even the washer and dryer have idle draw). Now when we will be away for more than the day I take 2 min. and unplug stuff / turn off power strip switches / turn off wall switches / turn off break
