This sound was turned on in the latest 7.5.1 firmware. Ever since, some
Radios have started making the "battery just plugged in" sound even
when the unit has no battery. The screen will brighten when this
happens too. We're looking into it. It could possibly have something to
do with spurious IR b
At least it's possible to switch off the sound in the audio settings.
But that's only a workaround...

Yep, same thing here on two radios. The sound is the same one as when
you put the SB Controller in it's cradle.
It's like the Radio thinks, just for a moment, that it has a battery to
charge and then it realizes that, no, it doesn't.

identify a regular occurence. It seems to be completely random.

Recently, my SB radio was upgraded to firmware 7.5.1.r8837. It is
connected wirelessly. I don't have battery installed. Now it random
plays a warning sound with the battery charging-like animiated icon.
