Hi, I've just extended my Squeeze devices with a refurbished SqueezeBox
Radio.
Is it a Squeezebox labeled Radio or a UE Smart Radio?
What firmware version are you running? What hardware revision
(Settings/Advanced/Diagnostics)? Did you buy it form Logitech or some bay?

One of my radios has sometimes (fortunately seldom) an issue to detect
the power connection when I re-plug it after running it on battery for a
while. Looks like it's a mechanical issue and I have to move the plug a
bit to the left and right when I plug the power cord into the radio.

This is normal. It is designed to save the battery when

Excatly. The Unit is on AC/DC power and not battery, but it cannot
detect wheter it's on AC/DC only, on battery only or both I've got
other Squeeze devices, amongst others 4 Radios

There are some radios with home made battery packs is quite possible
that not all of them work properly . the sensors for temp and charching
state could be wrong
