Seems to be not exactly like the problem I have

but I also suspect it's due to some issue with exchanging state between
Radio and LMS.

No. There were no other players on the network at the time.
Rebooting the Radio seems to have cleared up the problem. It seems to me
more like the Radio often has no clue what state it's in. Problems with
the screen savers have been
