Just wondering if anyone has a pic of what the optional battery will
look like, preferably including the size and how it attaches?

I don't have a picture handy, but the battery is made of 10 AA-sized
cells, wrapped together, with short cable coming off of it.
The battery installs behind a door on the bottom of the unit, so once
installed, it's not visible.

Thanks Dean - that's great news as I had assumed it attached to the
outside (such as sitting beneath the base) somehow. Once installed in
the unit is it automatically charged when attached to the mains? Or
does the battery have to be removed to be charged? Appreciate that it
might seem a silly
Yes, it's automatically charged when the mains adaptor is connected.
