It would certainly be more convenient to use the Squeezebox to enter
ratings - casually reach over and press a few buttons while listening
(or perhaps do it through the browser, though that's less convenient).

Do you plan to change ratings on the Squeezebox or just view them ?
If you just plan to view them I think you can configure MediaMonkey to
write ratings to the music files. If standard Squeezebox Server doesn't
pick them up during scanning, you should be able to use the Rating Tag
scanning
