Alarms are MUCH more stable now.

Mine works almost all of the time. It's the "almost" part that drives
me crazy.
That, coupled with no battery backup for the alarm in case of power
failures, makes it unreliable. If I need to be sure to wake up on time,
I use my cheap alarm clock that I keep next to the SB radio.
Very sad, a
Really hard to believe that everything works so great for you when
people all over Europe complain about MYSB not working at all during
large parts of the day lately. Then again: it's fine for you if -you-
have no problems, but it doesn't make the design flaws and server issues
any better.

I've had my SB Radio for a few days now and am still not entirely happy
with the Alarm clock behaviour. In truth, this mostly relates to the
switching between my local SBServer and mySqueezebox.com. I find this
whole concept pretty un-intuitive. I think the main problem I have is
that the radio do

I initially had problems with the alarm reliability. I was using one of
the sound effects (which actually require access to mysqueezebox.com),
and the alarm would fail to sound 1-2x per week (out of 5). I run SBS
on a local server 24/7, and never directly connect to mysqueezebox.com.

I wouldn't trust it. This thing is NOWHERE NEAR the quality of the
Squeezebox or even the Boom.

Not really.

Indeed I used it for about two months now and it only failed a few
times completely. There were about a dozen semi-fails
I use mine daily as an alarm clock. It's only failed once, when my
wireless router died. I don't think it will ever be as reliable as a
dedicated battery alarm clock, however...it's just too complex.
I like the alarm function, I only wish I could figure out how to get it

using it with a local 24/7-server and the alarm is working because of
that.
On important dates I use my mobile as backup alarm, have very bad
experiences from the beginning, when internet and my local server wasn't
reliable.

I used the SB Radio as an alarm clock daily (M-F) for 3 weeks while I
loaned my usual alarm clock to someone, and it worked fine every time.
Some days I used an internet radio station as the alarm, other days I
used one of the sound effects. The SB Radio was connected to my local

Hello,
I already own a squeezebox and is considering to buy a Squeezebox radio
to use as my alarm clock.
Is the alarm clock reliable on it?
Because I tried using the normal squeezebox alarms in the past but it
did not work very well...
Anyone currently using the squeezebox radio on a daily basi
