Just epoxy a metal washer to the Radio and there you go...

I think they just utilized the Boom remote for the Radio so as not to
have another accessory item to manufacture and stock.
The magnet does come in handy *if* you have a metal object near by.

You are thinking of the Boom. The Radio has neither the flat top or the
built in magnet (or is it just a bit of steel) of the Boom. There is no
