Hi Everyone, A bit about us. SplitIt is a 2.5 year old company doing comparison sites. We currently run our own site www.betterbills.com and we use our platform to power sites for others. We recently launched a white labeled version (connect.realestate.com.au) and are working on our next one. We're currently a team of 5 but looking to expand to 10 over the next few months.
We have a flat structure and use Github, CircleCI, Exceptional, Basecamp and SlackHQ to keep ourselves co-ordinated. Hosting all happens on EngineYard Cloud with a bunch of custom Chef recipes. Day to day we work from our office on Bridge Street Sydney. Everyone works off a recent Macbook Air and a Thunderbolt display (or Dell for those who want a matt screen). We like to pair and have a real focus on good clean code. We have an SOA and are ruthless about the boundaries. Our backend stack consists of Some Rails 3 apps running on Ruby 1.9.3 and some Rails 4 apps running on Ruby 2 (we're currently updating them all to Ruby 2 and Rails 4) some are backed by MongoDB others are Backed by PostgreSQL. Most use Memcache and Sidekiq. On the frontend we use Coffeescript and JQuery. Our new Apps are using React. Of course like all systems it's more nuanced. A bit about who we're looking for. We're after full time developers of all levels to expand our team. You are allowed to work in Australia and have some commercial experience. You have strong opinions formed by experience not by cargo culting. You passionate about good clean code and you have a life outside your job. Salary is market rate. If you like the sound of us or want to find out more contact me directly at jude.sut...@splitit.com.au Please no recruiters.
