The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) working on the development of democratic institutions and processes in Indonesia. Currently we are seeking a full-time Program Officer to assist with the transitions program in the Jakarta office through August 2001.
The successful candidate must be a university graduate with a minimum S-1 degree; S-2 degree preferable. Desired skills include exceptional ability to organize, ability to translate and interpret from English to Indonesian and vice versa, and fluency in English. At least three years experience in an international office and computer literacy (Microsoft Office preferably) are required. International work experience or overseas study is preferable.
The Program Officer will be working in a cross-cultural environment in which daily communication, meetings and report writing are conducted primarily in English.
Duties include interpretation at meetings and seminars for an expatriate staff member, translation of legislation and political material, general program management, logistics, filing, report writing and arranging meetings.
