[RBASE-L] - cannot type in field when clicked on

I have a form with a variable list view and a variable edit fields. If I click on an item in the variable list view and then click on the variable edit I cannot type until I click on it a 2nd time. Is there a way around that so that the user only need to click once on the variable edit? TIA D
