I'm using Kool Stop Mountain in the front and the Thinline in the
back. I do not like the Thinline with this brake.
I found that I had to RAISE the yoke in the front. I guess different
levers can have a big impact on mechanical advantage even thought they
are all made for cantis?

Brett if you're not trying to be snarky or derisivw then I apologize but I
don't think that tone is necessary for this thread.
It's a legitimate question, I think.

I carry my super heavy Manduka, or up to 3 regular mats (for teaching
privates) lengthwise on my Tubus Vega rear rack with one of those flat
multi-strand bungees going from near one drop out to the other. With a
long heavy mat it's important to place some of the strands close to
the saddle so the
It's called cold setting. :) Keep the bolt through the crown locked in
place, undo the P-clamps, and then massage the rack into the right
shape with your bare manly hands. If you are gentle, it should be
fine. They actually bend with surprisingly little force. I just did it
to my Nitto M-12 to fit
Agreed, it is a very nice-looking hanger, and most importantly for me,
it uses a 10mm box wrench and a 5mm? Allen key to adjust. How many of
you carry 2 separate 9 or 10mm box wrenches, which most straddle cable
hangers from the last 70 years require? And how often does one or the

My favorite cable hanger is this one, which I got from Jitensha but are no
longer carried.

They are the best looking I have ever seen and are completely self
centering, once installed. Initial set-up, however is a meticulous, time
My experience with the CR720 requires the yoke to be as high... so
high that I had to use an extra-wide yoke because the straddle cable
wasn't long enough.

I'd like to offer up my pre-2TT Hillborne frameset. I'm saving up for an
Atlantis instead for the slightly flatter top tube and for the ability to
run even fatter 700C tires. Forrest sold his on the list early this summer
for $775 shipped in the ConUS which seemed fair to you and fair to me.
Gernot: thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try -- nothing like blindly
bending expensive metal to give you that pit of stomach express
elevator drop feeling of thrlll! The legs won't have to bend far to
get the rack level.
In other news (y'all): I ordered some Civia flat aluminum fenders in
The Platrack won't work with a Nitto R14 as it doesn't have the attachments
to screw it on the sides. Only the Nitto Mini or the Nitto Mark's have
them.
