Ann L declared a need for a handlebar bag like mine.
The brand is Team Dream. There's a cute sewn on label on the front that
also says "MOKUYOBI" which may be the model (?). The selection of stuff on
the teamdreambicyclingteam website is nowhere near as great as the
selection at the Cub
Ohhh. I am so needing that handlebar bag. What is the brand? I looked on
the website and it wasn't listed.

Hi John,
I assume the UTS is ultimate tension strength or stress. I would think the
bicycle builder or framer would want it to be less than 70ksi (yield
strength limit). Once stress exceed the yield strength, it will basically
begin to fail due to buckling or plastic hinge effects happen on the
Yes, RBW claims it is heat treated, but the UTS is very close to True
Temper Versus (110,000 psi) so the heat treatment is probably for stress
relief instead of increasing the UTS

Paul,
Congratulations on your first Rivendell! I bought my first riv--Joe
Appaloosa-- 5 months ago and could not be happier. Now, riding is 100%
pleasurable with 0% pain. Love the upright-ness. I was contemplating a
Clem; it's a nice ride and you got a great color.
Hope you have lots of

I rounded out my 200 miles on my sixth different bike on Saturday morning,
on a meandering mixed terrain ride through the Chino Hills. It turned into
a sort-of-lost-but-not-really underbiking adventure at times, but

This struggle (R559 vs front fender) is what drove me to try centerpull
brakes. I was able to swap some stuff with a listmemember for a set of
Paul Racers, and they're a big improvement.

Crust seems to be gaining a lot of attention. I wasn't familiar with the
make until a Riv dealer actually suggested one to me. (I don't own a Crust)

I use my Bombadil as a road bike at times, I also have a double TT 56 Sam
that is my "racing bike". I will be riding the Bombadil for the Six Gap
this weekend - actually only the Three Gap. I just don't have the gearing
on the Sam for mountains. I am taking off the Big Ben 50s and putting on
If you have an upright that feels wrong, S84 seatpost will probably make it

Had no idea steel tubing had a yield strength of 70ksi. Stronger than
typical rebar used in concrete buildings.

The rear brake bolt is tangential to the tire diameter, so the brake-tire
distance increases as the brake gets farther away from the brake bridge. The
front brake bolt, because of the fork offset, is not tangential, and the
brake-tire distance gets smaller as the brake gets farther forward of
Riv seems to be out of this color and has been for awhile. Hit me up if you got

I'm headed up to Rochester next weekend for a wedding. My wife is in the
wedding party so I'll have some down time. Any suggestions for a 2-3 hour
ride? Any place to pull over and fly fish? I think our hotel is near the Erie
