Don’t be shy about weight asking. Know that lighter is faster (just a tiny bit
faster). Lighter is definitely more interesting. This build weighs in at 20.9
pounds. I just swapped road SPD pedals with another bike to get the free
30grams off the Roadeo.

If still available I’ll take one of the CP-1 cassette pliers.
My shipping zip code is 94901.
Thanks

That is definitely a M771 rear derailleur and is 9spd compatible:

Like others, I have two bicycles which run the 7700-series bar ends with
mountain derailleurs, so they are compatible. To work through the other
Dear Dave,
If you look on the inner parallelogram link, there should be an engraved model
number..
All 9v Shimano derailleurs are interchangeable. 10v and later is not (dynasys
has a different pull ratio, and 11v is also internally mutually incompatible),
and 8v and prior Dura-ace do not
Got a pic?

I know I shouldn't ask, so I won't...but that *looks *like a pretty light

This XT RD is black but clean. I examined it carefully with a light and
magnifying glass but I see no model number in the parallelogram area.

YES BILL! Glad you like it so far. I love mine, too. Everybody should own a
light, steel road bike that can take 32mm tires. I really need to put a Ti BB
and Herse crank on mine.

Lovely. It makes me want to move the Roadeo up by several notches on my
"want one" list. (And I'm glad I'm not the only one on this list with
titanium bb spindles; mine are Phils.)
Odd -- to my eyes -- but rather appealing stem.
Please post your impressions after you have more miles on it.

How did they all work out? How do you like the tandems? Things you would
change in your build? Things you love? PICS?

Yes, we tried it. With a barrel adjuster, it would hit only 6 or 7 gears.
The XT was taken off a MTB and sold to me, but it seems to be in good
shape. I don't see a number on it anywhere.

My goal is rear index shifting because I'm mostly deaf to improper shifting in
friction mode. My LBS tells me my Shimano 7700 9 speed index bar end shifters
are not compatible with my Shimano 9 speed XT rear derailer in index mode. Has
anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

Price drop and bump. I'd take $60.00 for this saddle shipped in CONUS.

I haven't been active on the "Daily post Your Riv" thread, so this seemed
kind of out of place. I've always been a 'roadie' first and foremost.
I've always had a bike in my stable that's a stripped down road bike. The
slot in my stable has always existed, but there's been a bit of flux on

Thanks for the note, Patrick! The one-man show, with a part-time pal or two
covering vacations etc seems to be the ticket. I think I’d still be doing it
if I was single and fancy-free. Perhaps later in life we'll do something again.
Cheers

I'd slather on the sunscreen, just to have it wear off way too soon. So, I
picked these at the store up in a Large because I don't like tight fitting
garments:

Thanks, Bob. I just ordered the Shikoro 42s and will update the thread if
they fit under my SKS P50s.

Paul,
I have no experience with these tires on the Atlantis, nor do I run them with
fenders, but both 42 and 48 Shikoros are sublime on my '09 canti Sam Hillborne.
The 48s jst fit, and I'm not convinced they've made a world of difference
in terms of cushiness as compared to the 42s, but
The seat wedge is no longer for sale.
