Hi Neil: Your ride sounds great.
I was considering joining Lucky Duck Bike's campout:

New Plan: I'm selling the wheels, fenders and lights as a package only for
$1200 shipped.
If it doesn't sell as a kit, maybe I'll find another frame down the road for
it.

Good for you Jock. And you got the family to go. I'd give my right pedal
capnut to get my girls to go. Fashion queens both. That's OK. I like going
solo. Nobody will ride with me anymore ("think I'll eat some wurm").

I have one of the largest, for a 64oz Kleen Kanteen, on my Bombadil camping
bike, and it works well. Depending on how rough the terrain you're riding, an
auxiliary strap may be advised.

Congratulations! My only regret is that I didn't get my kid onto my bike
earlier, so good that you're looking into it in advance!

Doable. Getting the diving board thing under or over the cable is the only real
issue, and one that creative bending can solve. It doesn’t look as nice but I
like to have a strut that goes to the dropout. Seems safer if something were to
give way.

How doable is it to fit a Mark's rack on the front of a Sam Hillborne with V
brakes? What type and length of support legs? What's a good source for legs? I
have the rack and four legs--two straight at 23 cm and two curved at 14 cm.
This is a used set up I purchased recently.

Hey Luke,
I picked mine up from Rivendell the other day. Ordered in the morning and
it was shipped that afternoon.

Hey!
Been off the Google Groups/Out of the Country/Prepping to swap careers.
Each campsite is regulated for 10 people + 3 cars. Clearly there's more

Congratulations on the baby and wishing you and your family the best! Our
little boy is about to turn two next month and can't believe how quickly

I have also heard the Yepp Mini is the way to go, but I haven't gotten one
of my own quite yet. Curious if there are other good options for riders in

Mark's Rack is sold.
I've gotten a couple inquiries about lights and have decided to take them off
the market until/if the wheels and fenders sell. I may end up trying to find
something else that stuff will fit (that my bum wrist will let me ride), but
feel free to make an offer on the wheels
Other things to consider about how you carry water:
- If in a saddlebag, pannier, etc, am I just using available space, or am I
displacing something?
- Weight distribution. Water is the heaviest thing I haul by volume. I like it
snug and central.
- When I carried water in panniers last year, I

How about a dromedary bag stored in your saddle bag and used to refill your
bottle? At least it is light weight, conforms to the bag and will not leak.

Congratulations! New life is precious! Six months at earliest, which is winter,
so as Kai says, next spring, summer, and fall is what you're gearing up for. We
preferred front carriers for interaction, rear carriers for no need to "duck

Ah, tandem spacing, I forgot about that. Can you do what you need to do with a
BaggaBond hanging off the rear saddle? It's huge and I have an olive one I'm
selling (or you can buy from Riv).

Roadrunner Bags and Randi Jo Fabrications make bar bags that hold bottles.
Here's the Roadrunner, and there's a thread around here from Leah (Bicycle
