I think you can, but it would depend on your rims and specific tire choice. I have 50mm fenders on my MUSA Homer, and my 42mm Compass/Herse tires actually measure 37mm wide on Velocity A23 rims.This is adequate but not fantastic clearance between fender and tire. Rivendell uses 650b for medium
