Yes it'll take a square taper crank, I've built a bunch of bikes with 73mm
shells this way. You just need a spindle/arms combination wide enough to clear
wider chainstays.

I vote for riding the black saddle until it looks brown. I have one Berthoud
saddle that is approaching antique brown via usage, and a Brooks Pro that is
there. The well used but not abused look is the best one.

For decades I have used beeswax on wooden tool handles and on wooden knife
handles.
Having spent decades butchering meat, poultry and seafood, I found it to be the
best treatment.
I gently warm the handle, rub with beeswax, gently warm again.
Itās ever so slightly tacky at first but burnishes

I have some Schwalbe G one Allround tires on my Appaloosa but they are the
57mm wide variety. Now, these do fit, but the rear is a bit close to the
chainstays...basically a couple of mm's on each side is the clearance. They
work, are nice tires and are comfy but I'm beginning to wear them out an

Ray, I saw a video where she loosened the clamp a bit and moved the bars up and
down..the noise was rather astonishing. I don't know what's causing that
particular sleeve to make such a racket with that particular stem, but the
dollop of Boeshield she added seems to have solved it.

We may have different Zefal pumps (I can't remember the size number of mine),
but it fits well in my 58 cm Appaloosa. I just went with the sizing by
measurement and Riv recommendation and have bounced it all over the place
without incident. It may seem less secure than it actually is. On the
Iāve been using a Zefal HPX 4 on my 62 Appaloosa for over a year and it has
never budged. I believe the top tubes are the same length. Maybe itās the
second top tube that makes it feel more secure, but I never worry about it.
