Forgot to mention the cassette spec is 10spd 11-30t, so 11/40 high and 30/24 low. High enough for me, plenty low for a mostly unloaded sled. 22.3lbs as is, with several spec subs that would get it into the 21lb+ range. Could go more modern and down in the 20s, but I like the older school look.

Hello Paul, Gorgeous bike and photos to boot. Thank you for the component details as well. Your description of the CX-70 front derailer touching the chainstay is particularly timely. I'm doing a build now where the derailer/chainstay kiss each other - or within a whisker or two of that so I'v

Patrick, This year’s crop is indeed bountiful. Last week I got a tire full and made it home only to find that tire (29x2.5 surly ET) flat the following day. I believe my orange seal dried out. Just two days ago I got a few goat heads in my 650b WTB resolutes. I knew this occurred because I got

First, an update: the Big Ones (again, these are 29 1/2" tall, 62 mm wide, and weight *450 grams each*) each have a dozen or so thorns embedded in the tread with tops broken off; no air loss. 2-3 fl oz each tire of OS Endurance, which is said to take longer to evaporate than OS regular. I schedule

I started using a torque wrench on crank bolts after I cracked an admittedly delicate (but ethereally beautiful!) Topline Superlight crankarm at the attachment point by over-torquing. But I don't use it for anything else, "feel" having so far prevented over or under tightening. -- You received th

Thank you. The blue catalogue model -- and thus yours under the paint -- is exactly like mine, though I bought mine as a frameset, not built up. Mine was too small -- 56 cm c-c, requiring a tall sp and a custom Salsa stem for the Moustache bar -- but I used it as a fixed gear commuter for a number

I started using a Capri 31000 torque wrench (Amazon, ~$40) when I started seriously working with bottom brackets, free hubs, and freewheels. For 4 years it has worked perfectly. For almost everything else, I use the “one grunt or two grunts” hand method. -- You received this message because yo

Hi, That type of torque wrench requires calibration to know if it is reading correctly. An accurate and repeatable torque wrench will cost 10x as much. What you have is no better than using a plain ratchet. Sorry. > On Sep 25, 2021, at 12:15 PM, aeroperf wrote: > > Capri 31000 torque wrench
