Nutcase makes a reasonably priced, non-swoopy helmet. I had v1 with an ironic
Evel Knievel paint job. My only complaint was that it had fewer vents than a
swoopy helmet and was a little hot in the summer. Great winter helmet, though.

hauler/router, but the Sam is my road bike. Lighter riders describe the Sam as
heavy duty, but to me it feels perfect on the road. My advice is to run it
with wide, supple tires.

Fizik Performance tape comes in a metal blue. It's quite dark, though not a
true navy, and has a slight metallic sheen to it, which may or may not put you
off. I like the padding of this tape and find it easy to clean, when necessary.

When Riv 1st came out with this the idea really appealed to me.
Since I already had the triple I bought the guard and 40 T ring and put it
together myself.
I was using a 9 speed 11-34 cassette at the time so that essentially gave
my 1X9 for every day and the lower range if and when needed.

I love this bike! I have a second hand custom that's set up similar---less Ti

ll go back and forth for that. My parents
live about 5 miles up the road on the other side of that ferry ride, as well,
so I will use the bike to "commute" to them.
In the summers I'll take my Sam to the island for the regular bike club rides.
Really looking forward to this bike.
