My 1st Sam was 27.2, my second was 26.8. Pretty sure that the current
models are 26.8.

Purple, 54.5 frame. Silver parts from the stash, maybe old Campagnolo Nuovo
Record or Tipo or Sansin HF hubs, NOS Stronglight/Spidel 93 crankset.
Maybe manual 2 speed - Double freewheel and double crank, 3 tooth
difference on each to keep the wheel in the same location. Fattest tires
that fit. VO
I am heading north that weekend, I guess I can leave a couple of days
earlier and be there. I assume that the Lakeshore Trail is basically flat
and suitable for a single speed Rivendell?

exception than the rule. A Sam Hillborne or better yet an A Homer Hilsen

also be an excellent choice if you do not need lugs on your frame.

Personally, I would just buy the correct stem.
If you do want to modify the stem you already have, I would use a brake
cylinder hone, generally available at local auto parts stores, Open it up
as little as possible, leave as much metal as possible. You can also use a
stem spreader (or snap ring
casing or 650B x 50 Big Bens) instead of knobbies.

Foy and I am looking
for less reach and narrower - maybe some other combo would do. I cannot send a

(special ordered these a while ago in anticipation). Let the parts

From:
Seat post size is the inner diameter of top of the seat tube (usually single
butted - thin part at the top) - change the tube = change the seat post. When
the Sam got 0.2 thicker tubes (same outer diameter = same lugs), the seat post
got smaller -> 27.2 minus 2 x 0.2 = 26.8.

Maybe this is sacrilege, but can lugs be 3D printed at this point?

I have an 83 PBH and I have no trouble on my 60cm Betty. Very, very little seat
post shows. Gets the handlebars up high (Fillet Brazed BoscoMoose). A great
town bike.

I was talking about the stays. The L bracket attaches to the fender with the
thick hardware facing out, thin button head or rivet head inside the fender.
The daruma is rotated 90 degrees on the stay and goes through the L bracket
instead of the fender – the daruma never touches the fender. The
