Just an endorsement of the C17. This is a great deal!
I have two of them, but the carved with the cutout. I have been a

so tried one out. I found it unbelievably comfortable right out of the box.

I remember watching the video introducing the staff at Rivendell and being
amazed most at the shipping department section! I used to help with

+1 on the "huge" not being that huge. It's big enough for most things for
me, but when I happened upon the "Giant" size on the Wald site I was
somewhat disappointed that I was not aware there was one larger.

I think its because my weight makes nearly every bike flex for me in the

Oddly enough, I've been thinking about a Haul-A-Day to replace my
Xtracycle, only because of worsening back issues and nerve pain. The high
step-over and weight of my stokemonkey equipped Xtracycle at is not as easy
to deal with as it used to be.
Sorry to extend this non-Rivendell thread! ;) A
Good job! Your load rivals what I can carry on my Xtracycle on a normal
grocery run, Very Impressive!
For an extreme approach, below shows my Xtracycle four years ago when I
tried to really push it weight-wise: Two 28 lb boxes of kitty litter, 8
gallons of distilled water, two big bags of chips
Beautifully written and photographed. "Poetic," comes to mind.
Thanks for taking me there with you. I appreciate this especially as for

Looks great! Really want one of those for my Xtracycle!
Only thing I think you need to finish it off is a bit of bar-tape, twine
and shellac! ;)

I'll second Benz's point. You'd be surprised how visible a fork mounted
light is to cars. I know it doesn't seem like it would be. I had the same
thought myself with my Brompton. I have my Edelux on the fork right above
the fender and I usually have a Carradice bag right on top. Though it

I clicked that link and saw zero products for sale other than a truckers

Beautiful bike! Particularly love your harlequin bar-tape job!
My wife/I just did traditional bar-tape with twine and shellac on my Salsa
Casseroll the Rivendell way. We did try to match the leather trim on my

Dumb question: I know you checked with Waterford, but did you check with
Rivendell themselves to see who the serial number matches up too? Or maybe
Rivendell themselves sold it initially to a dealer? I just can't imagine
Rivendell does not have a record of the FIRST buyer of the bike at least.
