+1 on spending some time without the camping gear on the bikes. One option
might be to get to the camp site early in the day, set up camp, then go for a
loop ride in the afternoon.

Thanks, Shoji. That's how we've camped with them so far, and is definately
an option for her on this mini-tour. It's a greate way for side journeys to
have a base camp for a day or two of exploring.
