Blackmtncycles' mike Varley posted a good blog post a few years ago that goes over canti setup pretty well. Its probably hard to get a grasp on it completely without being a mechanic who does it day in and day out. But its really just angles and a few little tricks and tips -- You received

I'm definitely curious about a non-biased head to head for the Compass vs Paul's. My 1 year plan for my Saluki includes a repaint and braze ons for brakes. -J On Jun 23, 2017, 8:12 PM -0700, Philip Kim , wrote: > Sorry for some spelling errors - my fat thumbs are not

Ive tried almost all of Paul brake offerings besides their disc brakes. I've had good luck setting up their cantis. The touring cantis feel a bit more powerful, but I like the wide profile for larger tires and more clearance for mud and slightly better modulation. Out of all Paul brakes that

I would say the Racers are more forgiving of poor mechanics skills. I say this because I can get them set up welll whereas me and cantis... not so much. The dark horse is Paul's MiniMoto. -J -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch"

The best brakes of all, bar none, that I've ever used were the IRD high profile cantis with salmons on the Rive-built Sam Hill I once owned. Power, feel, modulation -- the best. Perhaps Riv can prepare a little tutorial about how to set up cantis? Me, I've never had much luck with cantis and

greetings Not sure if this applies to your situation but here goes. A year ago, I bought a terrific new-to-me 65cm BMC Monster Cross with Paul's touring cantis, and had recurring issues with front-end brake judder. After I exhausted my own solutions (OK I had none) I went to various shops for

hi all- in a few years of working on bikes, the one thing i’ve never gotten the hang of is the proper adjustment of cantilever brakes. even the paul touring cantilevers seem to defeat me. to cap it off, i've had trouble finding shops that can properly adjust them. anyways, i’m having a
