I know they can be respaced with the right axle and end caps, but down to 120 mm or even lower? My '03 Riv is currently spaced at about 133 mm, and the rear wheel has a Surly flip flop spaced to fit. But that AM hub is, again, spaced at 115 or so. I'd like to use it for a second rear wheel for this bike.
If I can re-space the Surly on the current '03 Riv's rear wheel to no more than 120, and even better, a bit less, then I will ask a frame builder if he can respace the frame to 120 or 115 at the rear. *And*, if he can do that, then I'll have the AM built into a wheel. I see that Surly offers 120 MM OL fixed/fixed and fixed/free hubs, and it looks as if one could even take a file and remove a wee bit more to bring the overall spacing down closer to the 114-115 of the AM.
