Awesome. “Like a bottle around a campfire.”
We need a word for the bikes that have a strong BOB-ish provenance. That was a
fantastic bike, moved along when I got the Frances, which has the best tall
headtube ever. “Campfire Bottles”
Agreed that Reid was a fantastic trading partner, as was Eric o
Looks like around 245mm, not inclusive of headset.

Hey Reid,
What's the headtube length on your Joe App? And how do you compare its ride
to your Clem?
Thanks,
Eric

Mine looks almost exactly like Reid's in the photo. Same seat post showing,
but mine has a better looking owner.

Sorry, can't get to it right now. But there's a good fist and a half of
seat post showing, and stand over is just fine for me.

The Gryphon seems to have found a happy home here in Austin, but you never
know! My BMC (and now my Soma GR) was a similar offender. The tall tube on
the Clem gives it a very stately presence.
I'd say if you want to run drops the Appa may well be a touch long for you.
If you want to run Jones,
Hi Tom,
How about a picture of your bike?
Thanks,

That Gryphon has been passed around the iBOB list like a bottle around a
campfire. I guess that means it will eventually come back to me?
My Clem is the 59cm, and I wouldn’t really want to go taller... though I
love the huge headtube on your 65cm. It’s funny, anymore I judge a bike’s
appearance by
I'm 6'3" with a 32" saddle height, riding the 62 for a few thousand miles.
Size is no problem. All the best.

Hi Eric,
I'm 6' 4'', with around a 94PBH. I believe I was an inheritor of your Singular
Gryphon a while back? That was a great bike, and fit me pretty well, if that's
any indicator :) I also ride a 65 Clem H (which I believe you have as well?)
and it's on the upper Frenchiest end of what I'll
How tall are you fellas that are riding a 62cm Joe App? At 6’3” with a 32”
saddle height, Riv’s geo chart puts me near the top end of a 58cm. I’m
wondering how that compares to actual experiences.
Thanks,
Eric
