On third thought, angle seems important most of the time with only some (ok, only 1 that I've seen) that have a convex contact point that might allow for a sloppy (+/- 10 degrees?) angle. So, would a flat contact design such as nitto's play well with a trimmed and convexed stem shaft? -- You

No, it doesn't play "well", though well enough? Specifically, it doesn't provide all the smooth torque that a parallel interface gives, but it doesn't focus the torque it does have on either end, which could really screw up an otherwise lovely steer tube. So I'll be making sure that my new mitre
