As I understand it, Carla, the trick to brake alignment is the slope of the
dropout, which Rivendell can give you, presuming it’s not propritary (I doubt
it give a protractor could figure it out. Grin.). I’ll pm you a full sized pic
of my frame if you’d like to show the concept to your builder.

to change and take the cable stops off. I probably need to look at the
Quickbeam version. A local builder built it for me and he would make the
changes. I would be doing rattle can until later on the touch ups. Any
I think you’ll be delighted, Carla! Is this a custom frame or a drowout swap on
an existing frame? If so, what frame? If you’re going for the whole quickbeam
equivilant (6 tooth range, brake stays aligned) you may want to connect with
Grant and or have your builder connect. There are details
Patrick I’m going to change mine as well and I’m taking it in to my builder
Friday to see what can be done. Thanks for the inspiration.

Quickbeam dropouts. Had I been thinking it through better I would have also had
him remove the derailire cable guides and downtube shifting posts. But those
make good reminders of where he’s come from, just like all my

Thanks, Paul! RE Lord of the Rings: may I boldly suggest: Read, don’t watch?
Jackson failed to grasp a lot of what Tolkien wrote and bulloxed core concepts
like just war theory (Entmoot result), human dignity and capacity for good
(Farimir’s initial response), depth of friendship (betrayal by

That looks great! It makes me reconsider the powder coat job I plan on having
done soon on my old 1983 Trek. I bet that dark metallic looks even better in
person. It’s now a real one of a kind bike in more than one respect.

way, and in a few weeks will get the grey backabike bags, but I expect I’ll hit
the trails with Shadowfax before that.
