I had to go to a 126mm wide BB so the René Herse crankset could clear the
Atlantis chainstays. With the Sugino crankset I had before, the BB was a
110-113, I think. I forgot to measure it.
Regarding the rub you're getting, perhaps you need to tweak the
position/rotation of the FD slightly? I was h
I couldn't get any of my doubles to work with the triple crankset. The cage
wouldn't extend outwards far enough. Only the Sun XCD worked and has the
flat cages.

The issue being requested is that the derailleur has flat cages and is
silver. All the Shimano triples have the shapes in the cages for the

I've had good success with old-style double FDs in various installations.
I tend to use mid-'80s Suntour Cyclone FDs because they're easy to find and
cheap-to-free.
In my experience:
They work fine on a triple 48-38-26 (with friction thumb shifters).
They work fine on a Stronglight 99 triple 52-42
So the sunxcd fd works with 1)triples 2)small chainrings?

Yes. I just installed one on my Atlantis with the triple René Herse
crankset that doesn't work with the regular triples.
You can find as many as you need in the online Soma Fabrications shop. It's
the Sun XCD front derailleur, all silver, works with 8, 9 or 10 speed
beautifully but it's braze-on,
You never know , a few years ago I bought 2 great vintage Deore fd from a
seller on ebay for a song. While they were not new in box there was no sign of
any use at all. These were few models later than the original Deore , all
silver and flat inside the cage. I run one on my Bomabil and the o
