Thanks everyone.
David, that Triple Cross looks very sharp.
I'm actually helping a good friend build up his new Homer Hilsen next weekend.
It'll be fun seeing and working on one.
Tom, I also was surprised how well and how spritely / lively it rides for a
touring bike
and
Nice Passage!
I have one not nearly as nice I have toured on a few times. It rides spritely
and loads up well too. Your build makes me want to build mine up again. They
are an underrated bike and I keep my eye out on CL.
Thanks for sharing,
Tom

Great looking and well thought out bike! I also imitated Riv for many years and
finally got a Cheviot then a Sam Hillborne and couldn’t be happier with them.
Your imitation is better than mine ever were (Jamis Coda Sport with Albatross
bars and such) and I’m sure you’ll find the right Riv again
Oh and they measure 40mm wide on Dyad rims.
Not much clearance on chainstays but they work with a very true rear wheel.

Thanks drw.
Yes, 27" originally and I converted to 700c.
Only original parts left are cantilevers I plan to change soon and the original
Sachs Huret DT shifters I mounted on Paul Thumbies.

Looks great! I didn’t know those had such good clearances. Was it originally a
27” wheel design?

A good Sunday morning to all.
I had a Riv but I do not have one now.
I bought one 5 years from their beginning in 1999, a custom road model in a
beautiful blue with contrasting white head tube.
I didn't know much at all about bike mechanics at the time and after gathering
the parts
