Erl, I don't have callipers to measure the tire width, but holding up a
tape measure it looks a little over 40mm - although I'm not sure the
picture I took shows that very convincingly. I also took another photo of
the clearance with fender and tire and the crown, which seemed plenty to
me. I

I am just now realizing you got 42 tires under fenders. Ian impressed! Could I
trouble you for the actual width of the tires on your rims? I knew I had room
to go wider, but I did not dream that wide.

I might go all the way to 165mm myself - I just measured floor to pedal on
the rom vs the saluki and the saluki has 9cm clearance (with pari-moto 38mm
and 170mm crank), whereas the rom has 8cm clearance (with 42mm hetres and
