Congratulations on your new Sam. I also have a 2TT Sam set up with
Albatross bars. It is a fantastic bike. I have tinkered a lot with mine.
Started out with drops, then Albatross, back to drops, to Albastache and
now back to the Albatross. I think I'm settled on this setup for now. Good
luck wi
Glad you liked the t-rex, he's got a metal monkey friend too - I'll get a
pic with him next time. That's up Dry Creek Rd in Napa, leads to Trinity Rd
(near where I grew up) then loops over to Mt. Veeder Rd which is an uphill
slob but has a fun ride down the other side.
I really wasn't sure what
Great looking bike, great looking ride! I have the same Sam; I picked it up
off this list about a year ago now. Like Tim I've swapped around cockpit
setups for the past year-- started with Mustache, went to Albatross, then
to Albastache, now Noodles. This is the first time I've set up a bike wit
I ride a Sammy with 44cm Noodles and love love love it! Been on it - or "in
it" - since 2009. If I were to change bars - not planning on it - Id go
with the Albastache. I know the Deacon has enthused about these before, so
I won't bother, since I haven't used them. I have, however, ridden the ol
I currently have Supple Vittesse 48's on my canti-Sam (they just fit with
around 2.5-3mm of wiggle room, measuring an actual 47mm), but I've been
debating trying some 38mm Compass (err, Rene Herse) tires this summer,
primarily for fendering.

Thanks for all the feedback folks, it’s a really fun ride! I’m glad to hear I’m
not the only one who wants to swap handlebars around. I’ll solder the cable
ends so I can swap cockpits without messing up my cables. Really looking
forward to the Dirt Drop bars.

That's one good-looking rig, Abe!
Those who disparage the Napa area for riding clearly don't know the west
(Mayacamas) side of the valley. I live out toward the west end of Browns
Valley and the Dry Creek / Mt Veeder loop is my go to ride. Partrick Rd
and Henry Rd are also big time favorites.
Hey Bill, I’d love to ride with you sometime! I grew up on the top I keep your
road so the areas very familiar to me, but I see it with new eyes on the bike.
If you want to reach me, call 707 and then my user name.

That looks great. I’m going to give those roads a try. I’ve wanted to do
Cavedale and Trinity Road for a while now.

Cavedale is pretty rough road at times, Looks so different in the
after-the-fire landscape. Great for 37mm or wider tires.
Trinity is much better pavement but has some steep climbs (and fun descents).
If you’re coming from the Glen Ellen side you can loop Trinity and Cavedale
from one side of
