I have no issue with my friends choice of carbon fiber bikes... it's
their money and choice. I can hang with them on most of the rides
too(just barely on long climbs). What bothers me is that we can't take
any dirt sections because they can't fit anything bigger than 25mm in
their skinny a$$ plasti
A MCRB will fix all three of those, right!

Either due to lack of friends (real or imagined) or total lack of
speed, I no longer ride with other folks. While am faster than when
starting back on the bike a few years ago, everyone else has taken off
at a high clip.
I just toddle along on the road (paved or not) and try to enjoy
myself. Alt

I too have actual, serious friends who have carbon bikes. They tease
me about making sure I position my Atlantis properly at traffic lights
to activate the sensor and I get back at them whenever they need help

Nice story, Anne. I hope the dinner worked out. Sounds like a perfect
day. Were you able to fit a bottle of wine in the Saddlesack, too? Or
did you already have a supply at home? ;)
As for the color scheme, I would try either silver or light blue bar
tape. But that's just my two cents!

I agree!
By the time I load my change of clothing, water, lunch, repair kit and 1st

Great Post Anne. I had a ride in late September that my Carbon

Got a photo? That's too many colors flashing thru my head. But what
do I know? I think dark blue h-bar tape looks fine on my Atlantis
(stock color), along with a tan Acorn front bag & ancient Hobo (some
version of green) for a saddlebag.

Cool post, Anne.
Kinda funny that we dig all purpose bikes, install big tires, fenders,
etc - but still care about aesthetics. I'm as guilty as anyone.

I loved your bike life post. It made me wonder why a carbon bike has
to be 'dainty.' I spent a pretty instructive hour with Shawn of Ruckus
Components the other day, and it kind of changed the way I think about
carbon fiber. "If you make _anything_ as light as possible, it's going
