I had posted earlier -- that I have the bars on my Rivendell at maybe a
centimeter or so below the level of the saddle. Thought I'd add that I have
some pics of my Rivendell on my blog: The Retrogrouch
http://bikeretrogrouch.blogspot.com/2014/05/sunday-bike-ride.html
Saddle height, or slightly above. Then I actually USE the drops more often.

Well above my saddle height. I can use all positions on my Noodle bars with
comfort, and find myself being down in the drops on every downhill and
often on the flats. I used to ride a normal road bike and hardly ever
used the drops for more than a minute at a time. This is much better.

Mine are just a bit below the saddle -- maybe a centimeter or so. I ride on
the tops and in the drops more or less equally.

Another takeaway: don't be afraid to change things. That's why you have a
quill stem, right? :)

I have moustache bars on my Riv Road, slightly above the saddle height. My
Riv is set up as a 650b tourer/commuter/all-rounder.
I have drops on two other bikes:

fast gravel cruiser.
B115 standard drops on my Giordana,

Handlebars on the Roadeo are about at saddle level, maybe a cm above which
makes the drops several inches lower than saddle. I like using the drops to
stretch my back out and generally ride on the hoods.

About 3 cm below for moustache and [ramps of] drop bars. For drop bars,
mostly ride on the hoods.

You
Patrick,
Just like the other thread, you have to measure going uphill and down and
then divide by 2 to get your bar height.

At saddle height. I also like the way the bottom of the drops blend into
the top tube when viewed from the side.
