Great post Deacon!
My 15 year old son has started riding around tow with me. He really likes how
the area we live looks so different from a bike rather than a car. We hit
Target and the Fast Gas yesterday. Errandonneering is the best!

Aye, Jim, most of my rides have no control(s), so likely qualify as

i read the title to mean "err" randonneering. I applaud "errand"
randonneering but I find "err" randonneering more fun.

Hey Tom! Aye, 44s fit, at least the Snoqualmie Pass do. No idea on Rock n’
Roads. The 44’s are snug, so no play if your rim goes out of true, and a bit
less front to rear space for shifting. I prefer the ultra supple ride of
Compass. Estes is beautiful. I grew up in Ft. Collins and grew up playi
Uh, make that Rocky Mtn *National *Park. We were staying near Estes Park
("Machin's Cottages"), and drove south for a while one day just exploring,
and got close enough to Pike's Peak to take in the beauty all around
there.

Hey Patrick, you obviously haven't told your Quickbeam it isn't supposed to
be able to do what it is doing! Don't blame you though, for it looks like
you both are more than up to the task.
I know you really like the 38 Steilacooms and have no reason to change.
Just wondering, did you ever try

Just an aside, but I do recall fondly the one time I grunted 45 lb up a
very steep (coasting without braking or strong headwind will get you up to
40+ in under 1/2 mile) hill in a 67" gear at 4 mph (digit flickering on my
speedo), for a cadence of about 20 rpm.

Great fun, tho' I'll pass on 17*F and 50 mph winds. And fixed hauling 120
lb must be a new experience indeed. (What is your load-pulling gear again?)
Dammit, Patrick, you are making me covet (and during Great Lent, too!) a
nice, fixed, or at least ss, dirt road bike!

Errandonneering complete! 16 errands in all 10 categories, 134 miles. Falls
into the category of “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth over doing.” grin.

You Carried What? Holy cow, all this on a QB fixed gear! I salute you
Deacon Patrick (Gri). Congratulations on making the home page of the
Riv web site. That's an inspiring photograph.
Best regards,
Richard
