Good eye! They're just regular cork grips, but dipped in amber shellac on
both ends, then clear shellacked over the entire thing.
It was an easy way to spruce up the cheaper presto-log type cork grips.

Does the shellac make the cork sticky or does it dry and feel similar to
shellac on cloth tape?
