Oh, yeah. Silver might have been safer. But, Betty is an unconventional
lady! Give her a chance. She might have the attitude to pull it off. :-)

Thanks! I'm still not sure about the cream fenders, but I'll wait to make a
decision once I've seen the bike in person.

Aw, I bet the 47cm frame is adorable!
Mine will be 650B, though the bike shop originally thought they'd be
putting 700C wheels on it. I briefly considered it. My Dutch bike was a
50cm frame with huge wheels on it. I got used to sitting up high and being
very visible in traffic.

If Keven recommended it, it will be right. I have a 47 so imagine how
small mine is. It's the smallest size they made in the past and don't make
it anymore. I have 26 in wheels. Small, indeed. Yours are probably 700?
My daughter has a 50 w/650 wheels.

I should have it by Wednesday, August 21. It feels like a long time to
wait, but most of that delay is on my end, not theirs ($$$).

What a beauty! Between the gorgeous lug work and the bike's elegant design

The Vancouver Bike Club, a recreational (ie, not racing) club has

Yes, it's the "finding like-minded riders" piece that's missing. I know
quite a few people who ride, but in terms of their recreational riding,
they're either Gran Fondo racing cyclists, or randonneurs. I can't keep up
with either sort, but knowing that there are other like-minded folks from

I think the art on my box is identical.
I live near Rivendell and was able to pick up my new Sam Hillborne (Feb.),
hence no opportunity for bike box art!

Cecily, with your gorgeous wonderful Betty, you don't actually "need"
to get over your fear of diamond frame bikes. You are going to have a
wonderful bike that lets you do a zillion bike things. If you never
ride a diamond-frame bike, so what?

One of my mottoes is, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing badly."
People sometimes get afraid of doing something because they won't do
it well, but that is letting one's perfectionism get in the way of
living one's life. Just because you can't ride like or paint like El Greco or sing like Pavar
