That's the pattern I settled into too, though I use Woolite or somesuch instead of Kookaburra. I've never had appreciable shrinkage with any of the wool I've gotten from RBW or Ibex; in fact I've been able to stretch it marginally. But these $20 items are not knit like any of those garments; the're

"Delicates" + cold + Kookabura + stretch tail and arms a bit when you take them out of the washer + hang dry = no detectable shrinkage. Several years of this regimen satisfies my need for repeatability. On Sun, Nov 28, 2010 at 5:04 PM, Thomas Lynn Skean wrote: > > Yeah... I use enough wool that I

Yeah... I use enough wool that I regularly do a wool-only load in cold. That will I'm sure mitigate the shrinkage on these garments. But I fully expect them to shrink some. I hope not too much. Yours, Thomas Lynn Skean On Nov 28, 2:32 pm, williwoods wrote: > wow I would be carefull. I bought my

wow I would be carefull. I bought my son a sweater as well as the jerseys I plan on riding with. We threw the sweater in with the regular wash (not delicate, probably warm water) and it shrunk ALOT!! so much in fact that he cant wear it anymore. Bummer. On Nov 26, 3:53 pm, Thomas Lynn Skean wrot

And therein lies one of the secrets of the fashion industry: so much of what is labeled "Dry Clean Only" is not; instead, the manufacturer didn't want to see what the garment would hold up to, or thinks that the label will add some cache. I think my source on this tidbit is _Fashion Victim_ by Mic

I routinely and successfully wash all kinds of wool, including knickers made from high end dress pants, on "delicates" in the machine; when I remove knitted garments I gently stretch the tails and arms -- none have shrunk yet. I then hang to dry. Most of mine are non-specially-treated wool: pullove

I went back today and picked up a second one. I got the xxl with the expectation it may shrink a little bit. I normally wear a Xl. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. To post to this group, send email to rbw-owners-bu...@google

Thanks for the tip. i just picked up the last small at my local TJ Max. With the high collar and 1/4 zip, it looks like a cycling jersey, but w/o the back pockets. On Nov 23, 9:23 am, jennings wrote: > Hey Guys,  just went to my local TJ Max and they had 100% fine merino > wool sweaters for 19.99

Thanks, OP! Picked up 2 quarter-zips @ $20 each. We'll see how long they last; I'm not going to handwash as they recommend. But @$20 each, I'm willing to give it a try. Yours, Thomas Lynn Skean On Nov 25, 12:23 am, williwoods wrote: > Thanks for the heads up from the original poster. Got some
