Jay - Thanks very much for that table on v-brake arm length. The v-brakes

I had the 32F rack mounted on my sam hillborne successfully with deore V
brakes, but I am *guessing* this only worked because of the smaller tire
clearance which equated to shorter distance between fork crown and brake
stud.

I've got some VERY long 135mm arm cheapy Sunlite v-brakes on order at my
LBS. Assuming they were used for their fat tire cruisers.
Wanted the option for uber clearance with 2.8's on my Susie build

FYI
the old Tektro arms that are on there now (not sure of the model number)
are 110mm from center of bolt to brake wire.

Funny that the topic of V-brakes has come up just now. Braking has been the
Achilles' heel of my Hunq. I've tried Paul Neo-Retros and Touring cantis
(currently equipped) and even after extensive fiddling informed by
Sheldon's articles they still don't work to my satisfaction, especially
under load
Thanks for all the info everybody and especially the chart of arm lengths.

I’ve had the same issues. I managed to get my Paul motolites to go under the
rack arm, but they still “clicked” when one side inevitably ran into it.
Minimotos solved the issue for me, but obviously not a cheap solution. If you’d
like to buy some Purple Paul cantis, now, I probably know a guy!
I bought some rebranded Tektro 857AL (120mm arms) recently - sold under the
CON-TEK brand from Hollandbikeshop.com. They were intended for Beach
Cruisers.

Tektro had some "long arm" V brakes that were designed for use with
fenders. I think they are Tektro 857AL. I saw them at my LBS and should
have bought them. I quick search found they were discontinued.
Maybe Ebay search will fins something.

I've got V-brakes on my Atlantis with that rack. I just measured the arms
& they look to be 100 mm from post to where the wire connects. They are
Shimano, generic V-brakes. All they say on them is "Shimano", other
letters or ID. I think they were around $30 each. Pretty common stuff.
