I am using the 42 jim on an old stumpy, w and 36-24 up front, and on a gus,
w a 36 1x. it rules and i will be adding one to my 650b rb 2 eventually. i
am using a wolftooth road link on both, not the best looking but doesn't
wreck the look of either bike.

For my derailer, yeah, I needed an extender to use the 42t cassette, but
with the extender it worked great, even in 24x42, and 38x42. in 24x42 it
was very very spinny, I probably have looked down to check it the chain
came off before.

cassette? If not curious how well the front 24 and rear 42 work together.
Maybe this has more to do with what a particular RD can handle/wrap.
Thanks,
Scott

riding.
I'd say it
