Oh boy, I purchased the last one in stock for the long head tubes ! I had
not really planned on buying one but after struggling with DIY hacks I
rather had enough of that.

I did get one, thank you! Let the headset cup pressing begin! (It's so much
less unwieldy than the Park.) Also make a DIY remover out of 3/4"
electrical conduit and a fork crown putter on-er out of 1 1/4" pvc.

Mark, I'm not sure if you already ordered one or not, but Riv has two
headset tools in stock right now... I ordered one yesterday, excited to get
it and use it!

Nope, I saw that they only had five to begin with. Still a much better
ratio than the sad 58cm to 68cm frame availability.

You're seeing 5 of the longer head set tool still in stock? All my
computers (so not a browser refresh issue) show both sizes out of stock
since not long after the newsletter hit.

Thanks, Julian. It's just frustrating when you sign up for a restock
notification and instead it gets announced publicly. I really wish they
would take 20 pre-orders or something like that, as with sweaters and
sometimes bicycles. There has to be a better system

Mark,
I managed to snag one on the second round of these -- it is a truly lovely
tool that works extremely well. I had a home made headset press made with
large washers, nuts, and all thread, which was functional but finicky. It
is now at my local co-op -- I donated it. I've used the Stein on
Holy Cow. I missed out on the Head set tool again. Sold out. I even signed
up for the email alert, never got one, just the mass newsletter announcing
they were back in stock, but did not see it until after work and...gone.

Thanks Garth. I guess that's an option, but I don't want to do an
"end-around" on Rivendell (though it seems they are not having an issue
selling them!) I imagine Jim is busy building the next batch for Riv, and
if everyone contacted him directly whenever Riv got sold out... we'll see.

For the headset tool I'd simply contact Jim Stein on his website
https://www.steintool.com/contact/ . While it's not shown that doesn't
matter, everyone has things for sale "off the menu" so to speak.
