An evil plan indeed!
And on top of that, he made the first batch a perfect fit for me and my
son! Knowing either of us could ride it, how could I not buy one?!?

Was wondering if someone would catch it.
That is an amazing movie.
One of my favorites, too.

I recognize that line. My favorite movie of all time. The Searchers.
So we'll find 'em in the end I promise you. We'll find 'em. Just as sure as
the... turnin' of the earth.
I think I might be obsessing a little too much on the Rosco. I know I
am. Is that Grant's evil plan? Unveil a really

Oh snap! The point had been completely lost on me that those of you who
bought a Rosco Bubbe were buying for yourself a $1050 made in the USA
frameset. It being ordered from Waterford.

A Rivendell with a 28.6mm downtube!? A Rivendell with a 25.4mm top tube!?
Hold on to your Jan Heine, folks! We're about to start "planing" !
It all sounds very exciting. I'm glad
We have deposits for the first run-o-Rubbes and are planning (designing
another now). So far, so good. Most of the forks are Sams, but there are
some others. We're trying hard NOT to overlap existing models. Like, we
have no tall-tall Sam, but we have forks for a 64, so we can do something
Yes, the thing that held me back was the limit on tire size, and also
the brake spec. I live v-brakes. Otherwise, I really like it, and
would love to have something funky looking like that.

I was really into the klunker style of the bubbe, such a shame it maxed out at
45mm tires because it would look great with bullmoose bars and fat knobbies

I talked to my son about it, and he likes the Yves Gomez. Add to that the
deposit page on rivbike.com now says it is out of stock. So either they
aren't taking deposits (as-promised) or they actually got their 10. Great
either way.

I'm holding out for the larger sized RB with the cantis, that was their
original prototype. I hope that's coming up.

Buy it, Bill. I feel awful that all 10 didn't go. I always have anxiety over
Grant's anxieties, a silly tendency that I can't help.
I am on the list on behalf of my brother-in-law, but he wants a mixte or
step-through and Rosco #1 wasn't that, and so we wait. But I totally wanted to
buy one!
Yes, if you signed up for Rosco expecting it to be as cheap or cheaper than
Clem, then that was never going to happen, and you are naturally
disappointed. If you prefer and want to pay more for lugs, then Rosco
Round 1 again was naturally going to be a disappointment.
Here I am trying to
A complete Clem is 1500, frameset 850. The accurate way to read it is that it's
a couple hundred dollars more than a Clem, which gets you non-bendy seatstays
and a Bubbetube.

I am on the list and was really hoping for a bike I would "need"!). In the end
Bubbe just didn't tick the right boxes for me. Also I was kinda thrown off by
the price. I mean you can get a complete Clem for 1300 right now and a
Hillborne or Appa frame for 1300. So not sure why I'd pay 1050 for
Actually, looking at the spec sheet aqain I think the 81cm stand over is
stretching too far for me. :-(
