FWIW, On my SH, installing some 700 cc 48mm (VO, think they stopped making these) fenders i also had to trim like Steve, it's not that big a deal, some tin snips will create a 'tongue' that you can still bolt to the chain-stay bridge. I've seen Tom's Berthoud 60mm and Supremes, and personally
