The Rivet Pearl is closest to a B17 width-wise. The Independence is closer to
a Pro in the Brooks line. My experience is that the Pearl is more stable,
holds it’s shape better, and is less likely to sag the the B17. This may be
due both to the thicker leather and the “fender tie” that preven
No experience with the Rivet but if you are looking for thicker leather the
replaceable top Berthouds are pretty good. I use the Aravis and the Aspin with
excellent results. For comparison, I had to lace the Anatomical NSX within 6
months of use.

I love my Indepence. So far good for 600k rando rides, plus you don't need rain
cover for it. My B17 only good for 300k.

I used B-17s for years , but my nether parts couldn't take it anymore. Has
anyone tried the Rivet Independence? I was very comfortable on my B-17s
until they would develop the extreme hump.
