I took a nice ride down to the central area of Tucson today, and wandered over to the Cyclovia event that was being held near the Community Center. There were many cyclists, of all strips (although I didn't see any others on Rivendells), enjoying riding on streets that were closed to normal traffic for the event (between 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.). A lot of families with their kids out on an easy and safe ride. I rode down Meyer Ave., one of the oldest areas in Tucson, in the Barrio Viejo district, where a benefit concert was held the previous night for the KXCI community radio. There were still pennants strung across the road, fluttering nicely in the breeze!
It was a beautiful day in Tucson, around 75 degrees with a mild breeze, just perfect weather for a Sunday ride.
