Has anyone tried the current Tektro Road V levers with
the 9 or 8.4 v brakes. ? Would the 9s have more clearance
and be less abrupt the V levers ?

Today I installed a pair of TRP CX8.4 mini V brakes on my wife's Atlantis.
Over the years, we've tried various combinations, with only marginal
success. The stock Tiagra levers fit her hands nicely and seem to
work'n'play well with the mini Vs. No extensive test ride yet but on a

doug,
do you find the pads are closer to the rim with the mini vees compared to
non-vee brakes?

The TRP 8.4 and 9.0 are highly recommended by several people I know.

Mike:
The instructions call for 1 mm clearance per side, and that seems to work
well on both the minis and full size. Cantis seem more tolerant of larger
clearances but 2 mm per side is a lot. So overall you're working in a
narrow range. True wheels are a big help.
