Beware, too, not only of sticks but of flying plastic bags. One windy
day I had an errant grocery bag blow into my lower chain run and
entangle itself in the rd, resulting in a disabled drivetrain (I
managed to limp home in proto-fixed gear style.) I now am very wary of
such flying debris.
